Papidoux Calvados X.O is a fruity beverage that comes from the heart of Normandy. Merely an hour’s drive from Paris you will find a completely different world: idyllic villages, hills, and apple trees so many that their number remains a mystery.
This is the birthplace of the Calvados cognac, which is made from the local apple harvest. The preparation of the harvested apples for the production of the beverage begins in late December. After that, the Papidoux company distiller combines different apple varieties and turns them into juice, then into cider.
Having produced this Papidoux X.O , before selecting it to be commercialised, Calvados placed it in refined oak casks which allow it to rest for another six years in order to obtain a taste that comes as close to perfection as possible. But that is not enough! Only when the winemaker has selected those casks whose content meets the requirements is Papidoux Calvados X.O bottled.
This Calvados comes with an incredibly elegant fruit flavour, which is backed by fine apple notes combined with peppery aromas. As far as taste is concerned, Papidoux Calvados X.O is fruity and elegant at the same time. The tones of apples are complemented by a natural sweet flavour with a touch of pepperiness.
