White Rum
White/Silver rum is smooth and sweet, and it is made from sugarcane or molasses. It is a more recent type of rum, with less intense aromas, and it is ideal as base for numerous cocktails, such as: Cuba Libre, Pina Colada, Mojito, etc.
Dark Rum
Dark Rum is a more intensely flavoured type of rum, obtained from sugarcane juice or molasses, matured in sherry and bourbon casks, which render its dark colour. Given the tropical heat, the oak wood becomes porous, and thus provide the rum with pleasant, vanilla-like aromas, and a pleasant, special colour. This category of Dark Rum may be served straight, thanks to its complex and straight forward aroma.
Spiced Rum
Spiced Rum is a rum category enriched with various spices, such as pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, for an outcome of new taste and sensations. Usually, golden type rum is used to obtain Spiced Rum, which, thanks to the addition of caramel, results in a more complex, darker rum. White rum may also be used; the addition of caramel results in a darker, more complex tasting rum.
