Liqueur digestiv Amaro Montenegro 23% alc., 0.7L, Italy
Amaro Montenegro, also known as the “liqueur of the virtues”, was created in 1885 following the long experiments and extreme passion of the famous distiller Stanislao Cobianchi. The liqueur is distilled from over 490 plants and it is a tribute paid to the beautiful Princess of Elena of Montenegro, the fiancée of Prince Victor Emmanuel III at the time. In over the 100 years that have passed, Amaro Montenegro has become more and more popular, and it is now one of the best-selling brands on the Italian market. This liqueur may be served straight, combined with water and lemon, or as part of various cocktails. The unique blend of plants caused Italian writer Gabrielle D’Annunzio to name it the “liqueur of the virtues”.
Scent is distinctive, with notes of orange peel, sweet cherries, rose petals and aromatic herbs. Taste is defined by a bouquet of saffron, coriander, tangerine, tobacco leaves and black tea notes, harmoniously balanced with floral notes and subtle tints of honey. Finish is long-lasting, bitter-sweet.
