Brandy Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva 40% alc., 0.7L, Spain
Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva is a brandy produced in Spain using the Solera method. The Solera method entails aging the beverage in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. This unusual method lends the brandy its unmistakeable taste and extremely rich flavour.
Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva enjoys a pleasant taste of raisins combined with honey and caramel, while its final touch comes from the use of sweet plums, which give refinement and balance to the whole mix.
In 1909 it was appointed supplier of the British House of Lords and in 1917 it became the official supplier of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. The company follows a very careful winemaking process, starting with Palomino, Airén and Pedro Ximénez grapes grown in albariza white soil and a western Andalusian climate, which serve as a foundation for this beverage.
