Cardhu 12 Year Old is a very pleasant, easy-to-drink single malt whisky from the Speyside region. It has a clear and delicate flavour of oak wood and malt, reminiscent of cereal-and-honey English cakes. Although light, the Cardhu 12 Year Old single malt has a complex character, a medium body, and a harmonious and sophisticated flavour profile, which makes it the perfect choice for connoisseurs and regular consumers alike.

Cardhu translates as "black stone" in Gaelic and is found in the Speyside region in Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 by farmers John and Helen Cumming. They had been previously known in the area for producing whisky illegally and selling it out of their farm kitchen window. Once turned legal, their whisky was sold under the name of Cardow and the distillery remained within the Cumming family until 1893, when it was sold to blender John Walker.

Cardhu 12 Year Old sports a somewhat sweet smell of glazed pear, cantaloupe and pineapple, all carefully balanced out by fresh rustic tones of hay and freshly cut grass. Its taste merges the sweet aromas of vanilla, pralines, and honey with notes of mango, bananas, and pineapple. The finish is particularly refined, featuring hints of honey and raisins.
