Description
Dewar's 12 Year Old is obtained by blending whiskies from 40 malt and grain distilleries. The basis for this blend is none other than Aberfeldy, created in 1896 at the Dewar distillery.
What renders Dewar's 12 Year Old impressive is double maturation. The initial blending is followed by 6 months of maturation in oak casks so that all the flavours should fuse as well as possible. One can perceive the floral and fruity notes enveloped by the flavours of vanilla, salted caramel, and raisins. The finish is just as fruity and only a tad peppery.
