Whisky Single Malt Glen Elgin, 12 years, 43% alc., 0.7L, Scotland
Glen Elgin 12 Years – one of the most underestimated whiskies
The Glen Elgin distillery has faced many problems from the very beginning of the business. Although they started out with great confidence and even a well thought out plan, they managed to go bankrupt only 6 months after the launch.
Many years later, in 1964, Glen Elgin started to distil the raw materials for the White Horse blend.
The colour of this whisky can be compared to its taste, as they both remind one of slightly sugared honey.
The beverage comes across as soft and creamy on the palate, with strong honey accents.
Its smell is like a morning walk through the woods. Earthy notes combine with fruity flavours to yield a fresh aroma.
