Whisky Single Malt Glenfiddich, 12 years, 40% alc., 0.7L, Scotland
For 20 years, William Grant has nurtured a single dream: creating the best whisky. In the summer of 1886, with the aid of his nine children - seven boys and two girls - William ventured to fulfil his life’s ambition, so that together they built a distillery all by themselves, stone by stone. After a whole year of hard labour, the distillery was ready and William called it Glenfiddich.
Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries that are still owned by a single family. It also produces the single malt whisky that has received the most prizes in the world. It is the very living picture of the integrity and pioneering spirit of its founder, as well as the legacy of generations. Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a whisky very carefully matured in American-oak and Spanish sherry casks for at least 12 years.
This single malt whisky features a distinct flavour of creamy, fresh pears and borrows that oak aroma, while exhibiting a mature, long and smooth finish. Its bright, onion-peel colour and its strong, fresh and elegant flavours lend naturalness and refinement to this whisky. The taste brings interesting and suave notes of ripe fruits, featuring an easily perceivable acidity. The finish is long-lasting, spicy and full of the aromas of fresh, yet ripe, fruits.
