It was nominated "Whiskey Irish Overall of the Year" at the Irish Whiskey Awards of 2013 and won the gold medal – the Liquid Gold Award – in 2014 at Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. 

The taste of Redbreast 12 Year Old features a complex flavour bouquet of nuts, orange zest, and lemon, with subtle accents of marzipan and gingerbread. It has a distinctive smell of dried peels, with accents of linseed, dried fruits and spices. The finish is long and flavourful.
