Blended Whisky Monkey Shoulder, 40% alc., 0.7L, Scotland
Monkey Shoulder is a fascinating blended whisky, first obtained in 2005 by combining three single malt whiskies produced under the signature of William Grant&Sons: Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie.
The representative image of this whisky is that of the three brass monkeys attached to the bottle, which stand for the three types of whisky so skilfully harmonised in Monkey Shoulder.
Monkey Shoulder is a whisky which can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but also as part of special cocktails, to which it lends a distinct flavour. This whisky is recognised for its strong character, very smooth texture, as well as its extremely captivating flavour palette.
It has a pleasant smell that enfolds flavours of cocoa, malt, vanilla, marmalade, cinnamon, and nutmeg, topped off by a very subtle hint of anise.
The pervading taste is that of berries, honey, and caramel, with a medium finish featuring mild woody notes.
